Course Description

The lesson for Radiation Exposure is focused on developing a trainees knowledge to pass this Sub-element of  Element 3. The lesson will contain the exact information needed to answer all six questions correctly and the goal really is to answer ALL six questions correctly. When taking the certification exam there will be one question from this key topic.

Do not try to memorize the entire statement (which is based directly on a question),  instead pick out the key information the trainee will see in the question. The lessons have bolded letters to identify the key words in the correct answer. Where applicable external links will be provided for further study.

As a trainee one method I found very effective is to focus on what I do not know. This is the reason I have developed short lessons with the test bank so trainees can focus on smaller areas without being overwhelmed with information some if not most of they know. For questions I do not know or have a hard time remembering I make flash cards with only the questions I have struggles with. I then use my flashcard deck to review the problematic questions and as I obtain a grasp of the material I set the questions aside until the study deck has dwindled to nothing. The day before the exam I will review these cards one last time.

For the trainee, being able to focus on the unknown areas is much more effective than responding to random questions where energy is exerted answering questions we already know the answer to.

The course contains the PDF file from the FCC web site. Trainees are encourage to download and use the file as to determine where their strengths and weaknesses are and to focus on the weak areas. Trainees are also encouraged to print text sections to use as a study guide with the printed PDF file.
